ATM/Debit Card Changes
What you need to know
Recently, Federal Regulators made changes to the way that credit unions handle Courtesy Pay Overdraft Services. Our Courtesy Pay Overdraft Services were designed to help cover those ATM and one-time debit card transactions where funds were not available, saving you embarrassment and hassles associated with a denied transaction. The following is information to help you make an informed decision on whether overdraft services are right for you.

What are the standard Courtesy Pay Overdraft practices that come with my AAA Federal Credit Union account?
We DO authorize and pay Courtesy Pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions:
~ Checks and other transactions made using your checking account number
~ Automatic bill payments
We DO NOT authorize and pay Courtesy Pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions unless you ask us to:
~ ATM transactions
~ Everyday debit card transactions
We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means we DO NOT GUARANTEE that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction. If we DO NOT authorize and pay a Courtesy Pay overdraft, your transaction will be declined. -
What fees will I be charged if AAA Federal Credit Union Courtesy Pay covers my overdraft?
Using our standard Courtesy Pay overdraft practices:
~ We will charge a fee up to $25.00 each time we pay a Courtesy Pay overdraft.
~ There is NO LIMIT on the total fees we can charge your for overdrawing your account. -
What if I want AAA Federal Credi tUnion Courtesy PAy to authorize and pay overdrafts on my ATM and everyday Debit card transactions?
If you also want AAA FCU Courtesy Pay to authorize and pay overdrafts on ATM and everyday Debit card transactions, you will need to complete and Overdraft Consent Form and choose the “Opt In” option. By not completing and Overdraft Consent Form, we are required to assume that you are choosing to “Opt Out.”
Effective date will be July 1, 2010 for accounts opened on or after this date. For accoutns opened prior to July 1, 2010, changes will take effect August 15, 2010.
